2026 Annual Meeting

If you have a passion for magnolias and want to see what the future holds for them, then this is the conference you’ve been waiting for! Our hosts, Andra Nus and Dr. Kevin Parris, cordially invite you to come to the Carolinas to see gorgeous gardens and listen to some of the leading experts on magnolias.
The meeting will be divided into three sections:
1) Pre-Conference Tour of the Biltmore Estate and Gardens on Wednesday, May 6th;
2) Main Annual Meeting, from Thursday evening, May 7 through Saturday May 9, which will focus on visiting private gardens during the days and learning from speakers in the evenings; and
3) Post-Conference Tour on Sunday, May 10 which will take us to the world-class tree and plant collections of the private Bartlett Tree Research Arboretum.
Registration for each part will be available separately, but we hope that most of you will be able to come for it all. See the detailed description of each day here:

Gap Analysis Published by GCCM
The Global Conservation Gap Analysis of Magnolia has been released. This publication presents a summary review of the ex situ and in situ conservation status of 336 Magnolia species. Using information from global databases such as BGCI's PlantSearch and a survey of the global botanic garden and conservation community this analysis aims to provide information to organizations working on Magnolia conservation and encourage next steps for collaborative conservation of the world’s Magnolia species. This work was completed in collaboration with Botanic Gardens Conservation International and with support from the USDA Forest Service, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, Fondation Franklinia and Magnolia Society International.
